July 20 -21 on Eastham’s Windmill Green
(Wellfleet, Mass…June 11, 2016) Wellfleet Shellfish Promotion and Tasting, Inc. (SPAT) – the non-profit group that brings you the annual Wellfleet OysterFest – will host another quality arts and crafts event in two weeks. The SummerFair, rated one of the top three craft shows on Cape Cod, will take place on Eastham’s Windmill Green just off Route 6 on Wednesday and Thursday, July 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. The Fair features 60 of the finest local and regional artisans as well as fresh local food. The event is free and open to the public.
The SummerFair will showcase a wide variety of artistic creations such as illustration, painting, jewelry, ceramics, clothing, glass and much more! Enjoy food from The Local Scoop, Porky’s BBQ, Wicked Good Kettle Korn, and a raw bar operated by Polaris Oyster Farm of Eastham. SPAT will have a booth where attendees can learn about shellfishing and aquaculture and the organization’s commitment to preserve the industry. The event is sponsored by MA Frazier Enterprises, The Boston Globe and Love, Live, Local. Two of the sponsors will also have displays. The Boston Globe will offer special subscriptions and Love, Live, Local will let people know about all of the happenings on Cape Cod.

Wellfleet SPAT, Shellfish Promotion and Tasting, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization that produces and promotes the Wellfleet OysterFest®. The organization is devoted to sustaining Wellfleet’s shellfishing and aquaculture industries. Even the name honors the oyster. The acronym SPAT is also the name for a newly attached baby oyster. SPAT produces the annual Wellfleet OysterFest proceeds from which support the educational mission which include a college scholarship program, community grant awards and initiatives to support Wellfleet’s shellfishing and aquaculture industries, an important part of our community life. To date, SPAT has awarded more than $380,000 between the high school scholarship program and its community grants.
