Wellfleet Oysters 101 & Oyster Appreciation
A Virtual Two Part Oyster Workshop

4:00 – 5:00 pm & 5:30 – 6:30 pm
Learn to shuck like a pro. Winner of the famous World Oyster Opening Champion in Galway Ireland, restauranteur and Oyster Sommelier, Toronto-based Patrick McMurray (aka: Shucker Paddy!) will show you how. In this two-part virtual workshop you will learn everything about oysters from the basics to the complex ‘merroir’, the taste of place where an oyster is grown. Take one OR both sessions and become an oyster expert!
Wellfleet Oysters 101: In session one Patrick will cover how oysters are grown, what makes Wellfleet Oysters so special and of course how to handle, shuck and serve your oysters at home. 4:00 – 5:00 pm.
Oyster Appreciation: Up level your oyster knowledge in part two, Oyster Appreciation. Patrick will go over regional merroir, various shucking techniques, how to improve your technique as well as cooking, plating, serving and beverage pairing with these amazing bivalves! 5:30 – 6:30 pm

BUY OYSTERS! We recommend that you have at least 24 Wellfleet oysters on hand, so that you can really get into it! You can purchase them from your local fish monger, or CLICK HERE to purchase them from one of these dealers that specialize in Wellfleet Oysters. Be sure to order them well in advance. A properly stored Wellfleet oyster will keep in your refrigerator for at least two weeks. Ask for Wellfleets!
