SPAT is sponsoring a ServSafe Certification geared for raw food handlers with mobile operations. SPAT is subsidizing this class so that it can be offered to you at a significantly reduced price. You need this certification to apply for Temporary Food Permits to operate raw bars at public events and private parties.
The course will be presented in two half-day sessions and include information about handling raw food items and mobile vending. Some reading is required between the two sessions. The program concludes with a 90 question multiple-choice exam. Upon achieving a grade of 75% or higher, a certificate is awarded that is valid for 5 years.
ServSafe is a nationally recognized food safety manager certification course. The textbook is based on the most current National Food Code and the supplemental raw food handling protocols will be based on Wellfleet and County Health Codes. Kim Concra, Nutrition & Food Safety Coordinator of the Barnstable County Extension Service, will present the course.
