A Conversation on Shellfishing and the Indigenous History of the Outer Cape

Wellfleet S.P.A.T and The Wellfleet Historical Society and Museum present: A conversation with Michael Parlante and Marcus Hendricks on the history of clams and Indigenous tribes.
While walking out onto a local Wellfleet shellfish farm, participants will engage in a conversation about historical and contemporary shellfishing practices, the culture significance of Wampum and quahogs in general, shellfishing and the relationship to the land, and the sustainability and reverence for the ecology and the natural aquaculture systems in our community.
Participants will meet and park at Power’s Landing in Wellfleet, MA. The address is: 555 Chequesset Neck Road, Wellfleet, MA.
