Community Food Share Program

After you have read the following information, be sure to fill out the form below.

SPAT is developing a Community Food Share Program that we hope will both support you as a local shellfish harvester while also taking care of our neighbors in the Cape Cod Community. This program is intended for those for whom shellfishing is their livelihood.  If you are a recreational harvester, and would like to donate your product to other programs that we are developing, please fill out the form below and check the appropriate box.  Thanks!

SPAT will purchase shellfish from you, and that shellfish will be donated to Community Kitchens and Food Pantries to be distributed to the needy.

SPAT will pay you $300 for 300 oysters or 600 clams. The shellfish will be distributed in bulk or in individual bags depending on the Food Distribution Partner that week. You will be responsible for delivering the shellfish to a specified Shellfish Distributor in either individual bags or in bushel baskets, crates, boxes, etc.

In order to participate you must provide evidence of a valid 2020 Town of Wellfleet Commercial Shellfish Permit or a 2020 State Propagation Permit, as well as a 2020 State Sellers Card and be in good standing with state and local shellfish regulations.

SPAT will accept participants on a first come first served basis.  Names will be added to a list as we hear from you and opportunities offered in that order.  Every interested harvester will be offered an opportunity to participate once.  If the need is ongoing, additional opportunities will be offered.

Are you in? Fill out the form below and we will be in touch soon!   We are hoping to get fresh Wellfleet Oysters and Clams out into our community early next week!
